Operations: who are we?
The Operations Department is responsible for the production and assembly of our transmissions. Because Punch Powertrain attaches great importance to involvement and job satisfaction, six continuously responsible teams were created in 2012. The continuously responsible teams are jointly responsible for the total process in which a product is created. The team plans and guards the process progression, resolves daily problems and improves the processes.
Furthermore, there is a strong commitment to continuous improvement. Because Punch Powertrain believes that the foundation for improvements is created by the employees themselves, the organization opts for methods such as Kaizen and 5S. These methods enable employees to exert influence themselves and to implement improvements.
CNC operators and assembly operators work within the Production department. The CNC operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, while the assembly operator is responsible for the manual montage or assembly of components.
Maintenance Department
The technicians and engineers of the Maintenance department take care of the maintenance of our machines, are responsible for improvements and adjustments to installations and machines and finally locate, remedy and analyze malfunctions and defects.
Process Development & Industrialisation
The Process Development & Industrialisation department ensures that a product developed by R&D can be produced in a qualitatively and cost-effective way. The PD&I engineers develop and realize suitable production processes and machines for this. Furthermore, the PD&I engineers and Protobuilding technicians make the necessary samples for product and process validation for the customer.
Product Quality Assurance
The Product Quality Assurance department is aimed at preventing errors and defects in products and guaranteeing product quality. System controllers, measurement technicians, measurement specialists and quality engineers complete this task.
Process Manufacturing Engineering
Within the Process Manufacturing Engineering department, the engineers provide support to the production lines in order to optimize the production process of the key components of automatic transmissions.
