Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team at Punch Powertrain Belgium. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and analysis. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and finance, preferably in the automotive industry, and a deep understanding of global accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local and international accounting standards (IFRS), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, accounting standards, and internal control procedures, identifying and addressing any potential issues or risks.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Coordinate and reconcile intercompany transactions between global business units, ensuring accurate and timely recording and elimination of intercompany balances.
  • Audit Support: Assist in the coordination and preparation of financial audits, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders to provide necessary documentation and support.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g.ITAA) are an added asset.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the automotive industry or a manufacturing environment. Experience in a global organization with multiple business units is preferred.
  • Strong Financial Acumen: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis. Familiarity with IFRS and BEGAAP is essential.
  • ERP Proficiency: Proficient in working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with a strong understanding of SAP  and SAP BPC.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
